Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

A credit card company is seeking judgement against me in civil court and since I have been ill with cancer I am not able to pay right now. Should they obtain a judgement against me are they able to file a lien against the house I own with another party (we are not married and house is in both names).

Yes, they can lien the house (your half), seize bank accounts, etc. if they get a judgment.

It is important that you get an attorney to defend the suit.

Often they make mistakes in the suit that can result in the suit being dismissed if the right issues are raised by a lawyer familiar with the law.

Or, an attorney may be able to work out a deal with them.

It is important to act very quickly. I am available statewide to defend this type of suit and have affordable rates.

1. You need to take timely action to defend yourself. If you do nothing the court may enter a default judgment against you.

2. Frequently the credit card company does not have the correct documents to prove its case against you. An experienced attorney can review this & either get the case thrown out or negotiate a settlement.

3. If you don't have an atty try calling Bar Assoc (lawyer's assoc) in your county. They have a lawyers referral service.
