Re: Adjustment of status

You asked about marrying a citizen as a non-citizen and working while awaiting status change.

The answer to your questions could be very difficult or quite easy depending on your particular situation.

Generally getting married in PA has been made quite easy and does not even require an officiant anymore. Both parties can go to the clerk, complete a self-uniting marriage certificate and after completing it are legally married.

Changing status can be more complicated. Contact an attorney and hopefully you can avoid the many potential pitfalls in immigration law.

Regards,

Roger

Re: Adjustment of status

You can get married anywhere. I apply for temporary work permits as part of the adjustment of status so that you receive authorization to work within 3 months of filing.
