Legal Question in Insurance Law in Pennsylvania

accident

I hit--name removed--parked car(under 10 mph in--name removed--parking lot), cracked the tail light(older car 92), light bulb still intact and worked driver of car demonstrated for me and police officer. My insurance paid out 1400.00 How? and now they want to raise my premium 300.00/ 6 months. The other driver had no proof of insurance at time of accident. Isn't it fraud if the other driver claims damages I didn't cause? and how can I persue it? thank you

Re: accident

it doen't matter if the other driver was unisured. If you were not at fault, you are going to have to show the insurance company. You will need to find out if there is an appeal process with your carrier to show them that you were not at ault. Your rates can then be retractively instated. Did they tell you your rates went up because they paid out money due to your fault? If they did that is the procedure. However, often rates go up annually regardless of fault. You need to determine why your rates went up.
