Legal Question in Insurance Law in Pennsylvania

Understanding legal citations

I'd like to look up provisions in the PA Code. What do the various parts of a citation mean and how do I use them to look things up?

For example 31 Pa.C.S. & 69.52(j)

Thanks.

Re: Understanding legal citations

The Pennsylvania Code is the complilation of state regulations. It is available at http://www.pacode.com/secure/browse.asp.

Your citation, however, is to a statute (law). An unofficial (and incomplete) compilation, as well as other good Pennsylvania legal links, is at http://members.aol.com/StatutesPA/Index.html.

First in a statute citation is the title number (same as volume), then the abbreviation either for the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes (Pa. C.S. or Pa. C.S.A.) or unconsolidatate statutes (P.S., which stands for Purdon's Statutes). Then comes the section number.
