Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

10 day eviction notice from landlord

Does my landlord need to go to the magistrate to evict me? He made up this notice on his home computer and posted it on my door to vacate in 10 days. I don't think this is legal. He also said he would change the locks on my apartment on the 10th day at midnight. Does he not have to go to the magistrate? He also will not let me make payments. I have tried and he wants it all in full. Please help me! I only have until 3-28-07.

Re: 10 day eviction notice from landlord

Yes you are correct he has to file with the district justice. If he changes the locks you have to file an emergency petition with the district justice.
