Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

Commercial Property Landlord wants keys to our Business

We are leasing a commercial building and property where we operate our business. My problem is: The landlord has a key to the building where we have all of our company files ie: taxes, payroll, checks, business related paperwork, and she states she has the right to key to the building since she is one of the LAndlords. I feel she has no right to access our building if we are paying rent every month to her AND because of all the business information that she ''could'' have access to. She could enter our building anytime she feels like it. What rights do we have as a tenant at this commercial rental.

Re: Commercial Property Landlord wants keys to our Business

While even commercial tenants are allowed quiet enjoyment the lease may say that the landlord have access. I know mine does and there's lots of privileged information.

That said the simplest solution would be to lock up the information. Your landlord has no right to keys to the office equipment and furniture.
