Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

landlord/lease

I signed a lease and gave the first month rent and security deposit. I was scheduled to move in the home on April 1st, 2007 . At this time the home is not ready to move into. How can I be compensated?

Re: landlord/lease

I assume you have been paying rent since April 1, 2007. The difference between what your rent was to be and what you are paying would be ameasure of damages as well as a return of your deposit and security agreement since the landlord did not deliver the premises as intended. You should review the terms of the lease as it may have provisions in there that could effect the amount of damages. i assume you do not want to move in there. If so you could make an agreement with the landlord for your inconvenience by receiving additional damages perhaps no rent for several months. In any event if you do not intend to live there notify the landlord and ask for your money back because he breached the lease.
