security deposit on apartment

i never got a lease when i moved in to my apt. 2 1/2 yrs. ago, so i asked to have a copy of my lease given to me. they did, but the rent amount is wrong on lease. they don't have listed my security deposit and my last name is spelled wrong. i don't have a receipt for the security deposit anymore. what do i do?

Re: security deposit on apartment

Under the law when a security deposit is held that long you are supposed to get interest on the money.

That would give you an idea of what the security deposit was. In the alternative the landlord is supposed to have established an account for the deposit. So they should be able to tell you what the security amount was.
