Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

my son is a college student with no income (and a lot of loans). he recently hit a car and we did not know our insurance co excluded him from our policy. he's been getting 22,000 notices from a collection agency. what should we do?

The answer might depend on why they claim your son is excluded and whether that is an election you made and/or whether it is something that was explained to you when you purchased the insurance.
