Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

We were on vacation staying in a 3rd floor condo with outside stairs. My wife was coming up the stairs at night, when the hand rail came apart at the 2nd floor landing causing her to fall down a flight of stairs. She is bruised, scraped up, swollen foot/ankle and sore shoulder. Also the outside light was not working. What recourse do I have for possible medical bills and being compensated for them? I live in Pennsylvania but we were on vacation in New Jersey.

You likely have a claim against the condominium, as well as any maintenance service companies that took part in creating this hazardous condition. We handle these claims both in Pennsylvania and in New Jersey, particularly in NJ vacation spots where landowners frequently fail to maintain premises in a safe condition for "business invitees" such as you (you were there for a business purpose--you rented the place). Feel free to call our office to discuss your options and your potential recovery: 267.639.3105. You can learn more at our website: http://www.cevalloswong.com/about_media.php

I'm very sorry your wife was injured. I agree with the prior answer you received. In addition, there may also be a claim against the installer/designer of the hand rail. Any claim would involve compensation for medical bills, & pain & suffering. I strongly suggest that you do not try to handle this yourself. You will likely be dealing with a very experienced claims person whose job it will be to limit the amount of money your wife receives. I've handled these claims for over 25 years. There's no attorney fee unless we make a monetary recovery. Please feel free to contact my office. In any case, good luck!!
