Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

I live in the state of PA, my question is my ex-boyfriend has been storing some of his things in my garage for about 6 months now. I have told him numerous times to remove his things. Can I legally either sell it or throw his things out or do I have to give him written notice to remove his things. Thanks

Why would you not give him written notice? This would show that you have asked him to remove the items, should a question come up later.

Write a letter, send it to his last known address [not your home] by regular and certified return receipt and giving him a time [for example, 30 days max] to remove his stuff and that after that you will be disposing of it. No harm in also emailing, but you're better off with a written notice that he can't claim he didn't receive. If the regular mail is not returned, and if he doesn't sign for the receipt, you'll get the little green receipt card back saying "Refused".

If that doesn't work, talk to a local lawyer to find out your options.

THIS RESPONSE IS NOT LEGAL ADVICE, SINCE I DO NOT HAVE ALL OF THE INFORMATION THAT WOULD BE REQUIRED, AND I DO NOT HAVE A REPRESENTATION AGREEMENT WITH YOU.

* If the answers to your question confirm that you have a valid issue or worthwhile claim, your next step should almost always be to establish a dialog with a lawyer who can provide specific advice to you. Contact a lawyer in your county or township.

* Another reason for contacting a lawyer is that it is often impossible to give a good answer in the Internet Q&A format without having more information. The unique circumstances of your situation and things that you may not have thought to mention in your question may completely change the answer. If you want to be sure that you have a complete answer to your question and an understanding of what that answer means, establish a connection with a lawyer who practices in the area of your concern.
