repay long term disability

husbands social security was not approved to after he died . I recieved his payment. Long term disability say i owe them, is this true? Husband sign sayin he would payback I signed nothing.

This is not a Social Security matter. SS law & Regs say nothing about private insurance benefits.

This matter may be controlled by federal ERISA law or state law, depending on whether he purchased the LTD insurance himself or through an employer.

LTD insurance is a written contract. Your husband signed and is legally bound. No one can accurately answer your question without reviewing the written contract, specifically and reimbursement clause. For another answer, re-post this question under "Insurance Contracts"

But my guess is that the reimbursement clause is binding on his estate and beneficiaries.
