Legal Question in Social Security Law in Pennsylvania

Social Security Benefit

My spouse passed away in April 2007 but did not earn enough credits to qualify for Social Security Benefits. We were married for almost 17 yrs. She also was a non US citizen but was authorized to live and work in the US. She did work and pay into Social Security for about 5 or 6 yrs I think and passed away at age 44? Am i entitled to any type of benefit? Also I have 2 children age 16 and 10. Are they entitled to any type of benefit?

Re: Social Security Benefit

If, as you say, she did not have enough credits, then there is no benefit. But if she worked for 5-6 years, she may have earned enough credits. You need to go to your local SS office nad inquire about survivors benefits for you and your children.
