Re: inheirtance

The rate of Pennsylvania Inheritance Tax for property passing from a parent to a child is 4.5%. However, there are various deductions that can be taken on the inheritance tax return to lower the amount of tax owed. Therefore, it is always important to talk to an attorney to prepare the inheritance tax return, just as you would consult with an accountant to prepare your individual tax return to get the most deductions.

If this is a matter of planning and the parent has not yet passed, there are ways to save prior to death.

I do give free initial consultations, so if you wish to discuss the matter further please feel free to contact me at 412.731.0865.
