Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Pennsylvania

will my mother may have had

My mother passed away recently, and she always told us (3) children there was a will. Her husband is still living, and he says there is not one. I think she did this without him knowing. Is there anyway I can find more information on where to find it or if there really is one? PLEASE HELP US... We know our mother would of left us something..

Thank you so much!

Re: will my mother may have had

Well there is good news and bad news. Bad news is Pennsylvania has not yet established a central will filing system where people can file their wills so others like you could find them. But, good news even without a will the three children, if they are children that are not children of her current husband, which from the way you addressed it, sounds like her current husband is not your father, are entitled to share in one half of her estate. Now keep in mind that anything that was joint with her husband goes directly to her husband and anything with beneficiary designations such as life insurance go directly to the beneficiary named. Anything in her sole name is what you may be entitled to half of.
