Legal Question in Workers Comp in Pennsylvania

Settlement time

I've been on comp for over four years, and can never return to previous cereer. Been at MMI for over a year now,IC said they wanted to settle six months ago,but have not come back with any offer yet. There is always an excuse every time my lawyer contacts them. The latest thing they did was had a PI asking my neighbors if I worked for a living. That was two weeks ago,my neighbor they asked just got back from vacation and told me about it.Do you think they have been watching me for a while or do they fish around first? I live in a dead end street and I would see any one trying to watch my house or my dog would see or hear anything odd. Also being that my doctor and three of there doctors said that I could never return to my old career what is the hold up? And is this finally when they are getting serious about settling? What I really do not understand is that we sent them a settlement demand a year ago,but instead of them trying to get this off there books they continue to pay me 34000 a year to sit in my butt. Thanks for any replies.

Re: Settlement time

Everything seems auspicious for a settlement. make sure you demand a high enough figure. i hope you have one of the excellent area WC practitioners. don't sweat the private investigator as you hae nothing to hide.

counsel should be highly motivated to bring the matter to a conclusion.

MMi can be contested and insurance companies can simply buy a report saying that you are faking your complaints, and negating whatever subjective complaints you have exhibited. their hired medical opinion may even minimize your actual objective findings. don't be unreasonable. no one gets rich off WC cases except the lawyers.
