Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Puerto Rico

How to claim share of property as stated in the will?

When my grandmother died she stated in her will for the house to be sold and the money distributed to her sons and daughters. She assigned one of her daughters to be the representative for her finances. Since then, the house was never sold, one of her sons lives in it, no one received their share of the property value. My dad had a copy of the will, but is now lost. He is not mentally capable to claim his share, however, before his illness he made a power of attorney assigning me and my mother to be his representatives. What my aunt did is not fair, If she wants to keep the property against what was agreed then it's only fair that my dad receives his share somehow. I am sure she has the original will safe. How do we proceed if there is no cooperation from her part or anyone else from the family?

It is strongly suggested that you clarify where the estate is located, and where was the will signed. That information is crucial in order to apply both the appropriate law and conflict of laws statutes.

You need counsel in PR to check out this estate.
