is it a crime?
minor child, 17 sent a nude photo over cellphone to girlfriend, 16. parents intercepted it.

Technically it could be considered a crime. However, that really is not what the law was designed to prevent. What you have is one teenager that sent another teenager one photo, I assume one time. Without knowing more, it would not seem likely that any criminal charges would be brought. Usually situations like this are not the type that the police will pursue. Good luck.
