Legal Question in Personal Injury in South Carolina

Lost toe on right foot in lawn mower accident 20 years ago

In 1978 I lost the 4th toe on my right foot and sustained significant related injury to that foot. I was employed by the City I lived in and was working for the city when the accident occurred. The lawnmower was modified to remove all of the safety equipment. At the time I was young and was pressured to settle quickly with workers comp for a small amount of money. My question is this: Is it too late to try to recover damages from the city for this accident? I now live in South Carolina but this accident occurred in Tennessee.

The United States is a wonderful country, but a very difficult one from a legal standpoint. We might be "United" in certain respects, but not in all respects. Unfortunately, I cannot answer your questions. Each state is different and the laws vary. You have posted your question under South Carolina, but your question pertains to TN law. I suggest you go back and repost the questions for TN. Sorry.
