Legal Question in Real Estate Law in South Carolina

Removal From Lease/Termination

Are there any legal documents that can prove removal from a lease besides a roomate release form that can hold up in court, i.e signed letter from roomates, etc...

Re: Removal From Lease/Termination

A roommate would not have legal authority to release a co-renter from the primary lease. This would have to come from the landlord.

However, if the co-renter were subleasing(with

the landlord's approval), such release could be given from the roommate who was on the primary lease, and, yes, a letter to that effect should

normally constitute sufficent proof that such release was properly given.
