How can I legally stop my ex-husband from making false

accusations about me. This has been going on for some time. I am tired of turning the other cheek. He is ruining my name.

Re: deprivation of character

This isn't really a question of sexual harassment (unless your ex is also your boss). However, yes, there are ways to stop him from making false allegations. The cause of action is slander - defamation that is spoken, rather than written (which is libel).

It's hard to say what sort of case you have, or whether you'd likely prevail at trial (should you wish to take this that far) without knowing the particulars, so I'd urge you to contact my office or another SC attorney at your earliest convenience to talk about what's going on in specifics. My information should appear elsewhere on this site, and at the bottom of this answer.
