Child Abandonment or Desertion of a Child by a Parent

I need to find the laws on abandonment of a child by one parent. (I think there are 13 in the State of South Dakota.)

I can't tell from your question whether you live in South Dakota and have a question about a South Dakota abandonment, or whether you're compiling a list of each state's abandonment laws. If you're compiling, you can visit many state homepages and find their codes. If you want SD statutes for a specific case, you can go online to read the statutes, or read them at a county library or law school, or make an appointment with a SD attorney for a consult (which is probably the best).
