Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Tennessee

Going to court of credit card debt

I am being taken to court by a collection agency over past credit card debt that I haven't paid. I would like to know what my best option is and if this is a situation where I will need to hire a lawyer (which I can't afford). Also, what can I do to try to settle this matter without having to go to court?

Re: Going to court of credit card debt

Contact the lawyer/credit agency that has sued you. Tell them you would like to work out a payment plan and that you would agree to sign an agreed order with the court that stipulates the terms. They will probably agree so you won't have to go to court.
