aggerviated assualt

i was attacked in my home fter telling the preson to leave and they did not leave but attacked me.Is there a self defense law in tennessee?

To start with, generally Aggravated Assault is a C Felony. If convicted of Aggravated Assault, your range of punishment is 3 to 15 years. In addition, even as a first offense, you could be ordered to serve your sentencing in jail.

Tennessee does have a Self Defense law. However, the application of the Self Defense law to a case is dependant on the facts of the case. Generally, to exercise the Self Defense law a person must be in a situation where �a reasonable person would believe that they are in imminent danger of severe bodily injury or death. The application of the self defense law is very complex.
