Legal Question in Criminal Law in Tennessee

Child Abandonment

I have a rough idea as to where my 2 children biological father lives Small town just dont know exact address. He has had no contact with me or my daughters in the last 8 years the girls are 10 12. We divorced in 2000 and have never received a penny in child support; he is a state jumper and has never really held down a job.

Is it possible to have him criminally charged with child neglect or abandonment? As you can imagine Child Support enforcement in 3 different states have been able to nothing. I have even contacted 2 different Child Support collection agency and they were unable to assist

I know if I were to care for the children the way he has in the last 8 years I would be in jail

If I am able to do this how would I proceed?

He lives in TN

Re: Child Abandonment

If you know where he lives, you can file a petition in that state to enforce child support. As you may know, not following court ordered child support is a criminal offense.
