Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

divorce and still living together as man and wife

Me and my husband have been seperated for about a year and we want to reconcile, but the he is insistant about still getting a divorce and us still live together as ''husband'' and ''wife''. He doesnt want anybody to know about the divorce and claims it's for financial reasons down the road (i.e. if I was to leave him 10 years from now I couldn't take his retirment or the house cause it would be his) My concern is after years of living in a situation like that would I have any rights to anything that we worked together for?

Tennessee generally does not recognize "palamony".

Why give all of the benefits of being married if you do not receive the benefits of being married?
