Legal Question in Employment Law in Tennessee

Employment Issue

Is it discrimination if your boss hires people of his color and from his church, over people in the company already that are qualified? My new boss posted a job and told me privately I had the job before any interviews. I did not get the job but he gave it to someone from his church. Seven of his hires have been from people at his church.

Re: Employment Issue

It is unlawful for an employer to discriminate in the selection of individuals for positions on the basis of religion and/or color. If this is happening, you should consult with an attorney experienced in handling labor and employment matters to discuss this.
