Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Tennessee

I have a situation maybe someone can help me with. My wife her sister and mother were operating a business in Murfreesboro, TN. They were renting a building from a landlord and paying monthly payments on equiptment from another source. They fell behind on payment 15 days for the equipment and the owner of the equiptment changed the locks on the doors and its not his building. The owner of the building is in Africa for 10 days and the property manager would do nothing about the situation. Do you have any advice on this situation because they don't know what to do.

Your wife, her sister and mother need to consult with a lawyer in the county where the business is located and file for injunctive relief in the county's chancery court against the equipment lessor and possibly the property manager and building owner. The issuance of a temporary restraining order (TRO) could force the reopening of the business. In addition, there may also be a separate cause of action agaisnt the equipment lessor seeking the recovery of monetary damages for trespass, conversion, tortious interference with a contract, etc. Your family members however, need to immediately take action.
