Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Tennessee

Get family to move out

my cousin and her husband moved into my old house when I bought another one with the purpose of buying it. It's been over 7 months and the loan hasn't closed yet and they don't pay enough for me to even make a house payment each month. No contract was ever signed, I just trusted them since they were family. Now they say another survey needs to be done and I have to pay for it. I just want them to leave and sell my house with no worries. I was trying to be nice and let them purchase for what I owe on it but they still are not any closer to buying than the first day of moving in, in August. What can I do?

Thank you

Re: Get family to move out

Unless they will move out voluntarily, you will have to go to court to have them evicted. It sounds like there might be plenty of other options as well. Raising the rent or having a contract drafted for the purchase of the house are just 2 that come to mind. You would be best advised to seek the advice of an attorney since this involves a large asset.
