Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Tennessee

Conservatorship

Myself and my husband have conservatorship (not over her money) of our 20 year old mentally and physically handicapped daughter. When I go to sign papers for her, such as to get a Vocational Rehabilitation evaluation, they say that my daughter has to make a mark, then I can sign. My daughter has not and will not make such a mark. Our conservatorship says that I can sign for her. My question is: Does she have to make some kind of mark? (She is considered a Hypotonic Quadraplegic, by her Orthopedic and family doctors.

Re: Conservatorship

OF COURSE YOU CAN SIGN FOR HER. YOUR DAUGHTER CANNOT BE MADE TO DO ANYTHING SHE CANNOT DO. FOR THEM TO EVEN ASK HER TO SIGN ANYTHING IS SILLY, AND NOT NECESSARY. IF YOU HAVE A VALID CONSERVATORSHIP ORDER GIVING YOU THE RIGHT TO MAKE DECISIONS FOR HER, THEN THEY SHOULD HONOR THAT ORDER. They simply do not know what they are talking about.
