Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Tennessee

Parental Debt at Death

If my father dies and all of his assets

are sold to cover his debts, and his

debts are not covered by those assets,

am I, as his daughter, legally

responsible for the remainder of the

debt?

Not unless you are a cosigner or named on the documents creating that debt.

At least that's PA law is it the law in Tn? I can't say but what you describe is an insolvent estate. Which happens a lot and the creditors lose out.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
