Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Texas
builder bankrupt liens subcontractors apply liens to home
Our builder recently filed chapter 11. We are now receiving notification that there are liens against our house from builder subcontractors ie painter, framer, etc. Our title insurance indicated no liens against the house. What is our liability to pay the liens in which the builder owes?

Re: builder bankrupt liens subcontractors apply liens to home
Generally, the homeowner is responsible for resolving the subcontractor liens on the home. Hopefully, an amount of retainage (required 10%) has been set aside to resolve these unpaid liens. We have handled this exact problem on behalf of other homeowners in your area (Leander, Texas/Williamson County). Let us know if you would like our assistance.
