Unauthorized tranmission repair
The transmissions shop rebuilt my transmission with my authorization. Our last conversation was regarding methods of payment and ''Kevin'' was to discuss options with the owner and get back to me. He says he tried my cell phone but I never spoke with him. I called Kevin this morning to inform him that we had decided to do tha work ourselves and that I would be bringing a trailor to pick that car up. He informed me at that time that the work had already been done.

You are going to have to pay for the work in order to recover your car. You can then bring suit in Small Claims to recover your payment for the unauthorized work.
