Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

I have gotten a payday loan on Jan.31 2012, my first payment was due but the account became negative,A guy called and said he was an attorney and said I had until noon to pay the balance of $910 or I was going to be arrested on my job . he was going to contact my employer and get me fired. anyway, I paid $400 that friday, and if I don't make the rest of the payment today the $400 will be returned and I will be arrested. I told him once my check is deposited I will make the payment. Anyway, my question is ... is an online payday loan a check that can be prosecuted?
