Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I went into contract with a company to hold an event. After many payments I asked for and they submitted an invoice with the remaing balance stated clearly. The balance was lower then what was in the original contract. I paid the bill. Months later they are claiming that they had accidentlly applied money from another account to our bill and that after backing that money out they want the remaing original balance. Do I have to pay?
