Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Late invoice payment

I recently completed some independent contract work which I invoiced the client (a business) for. The contract we had states that they would pay me within 14 days of receiving the invoice, but there isn't anything in the contract about a late fee. My question is, can i re-invoice them after the 14 days has passed and include a late fee of some kind? Is there any law stating what the amount of the late fee can or cannot be? Thanks.

Re: Late invoice payment

If you do not have a contract for a late fee then adding it to an invoice could be usury and free debtor from all obligations..be sure to get agreement before starting work for late fees/interest etc.
