Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

Liability of a credit card debt after death of spouce. Not co=signer!

My father in law passed away a week ago and I need to know if my mother in law is liable for the credit card he had with out her knowledge. She is not named on the card, nor was she even aware of it till he got ill.
