Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I was just summons for judgement on credit card debt of $4,100. My only income is my work, I own my home (homestead) but I am unable to pay. I have been living on negative income for the past years. What can I do?

I don't know what a "summons for judgment" is. It sounds like some kind of silly scare tactic being used by a creditor or collection agency. "Summons for judgment" is not a legal term in Texas.

Ignore this "summons for judgment." Don't call these people, don't write to them, and don't accept any phone calls from them. My guess is that this "summons for judgment" doesn't reference a cause number or a specific court ("County Court at Law of Jasper County, Texas" or some such).
