Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

I am 19, and living in Texas and got charged with MIC, Possession of Marijuana under 2oz, and possession of Controlled Substance under under 1 gram (2 vyvance pills that I did not have a prescription for.) and possession of a fictitious ID.

This was a terrible night that I am going to regret for the rest of my life. I going to try and get some of this expunged and at least the CS charge reduce from a felony to a Class C Misdemeanour.

This is my first criminal act of any kind on my part. Am I able to file for Differed adjudication? I just do not want this affecting job prospects in the future. I'm scared I have ruined my life.

Is there anything I could do to lesson my charge?

The pills weren't mine, somebody must have left them in my car, and that's what I told the officer.

Thank you in advance for your help,

James K.

You are right to be scared, because if this is not handled correctly it will follow you for the rest of your life. There is no guarantee that it won't. First, don't discuss this matter again with anyone or any website, unless it is with a retained attorney in a confidential setting. An experienced attorney can review the totality of the circumstances and advise you of your best options. Good luck.
