Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Assault Family Member
I recently called the police on my husband because he was fighting me. I was defending myself but it wasn't helping. The police came out and arrested me, because he had a scratch on his neck. My court date is soon. My husband is not pressing charges. That was my first time being arrested, well I've never ad any legal problems. I really want to know what's going to happen when I go to court? What are the procedures?

you better hire a good criminal attorney,because in some counties it doesn't matter that your husband does not want to file charges they have already been filed and now it is up to the county or district attorney who will determine whether the case will be dismissed.
