Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

mothers credit cards and probating a will

My mom passed away in 2006, I paid her credit cards and occasionally used them and I consulted a lawyer on this matter her reply on this matter was to probate her will and try to get these debts cancelled. Im still confused, If I used the cards and am paying this back how can probating the will help this matter. I paid her 2500.00 to probate this will and have the debts cancelled. I dont feel this is going to work, can it back fire on me and if it does what are the consequences of this matter?? Im abiding by the lawyers advice but dont feel comfortable on this at all. Please advise me on this

Re: mothers credit cards and probating a will

Are you saying you used the cards before or after her death, and if before, did you have her permission? These are factors a lawyer will consider when advising you regarding any future course of action.

Don't answer these questions except face to face with your attorney.
