Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

Guilt by association

Is it possible if a person is accused of child molestation and pleds guilty; however he states to me that it's guilt by association, would the consequence be him wearing a GPS/on probation. If it's guilty by association and not guilt by actually performing the act, why would someone be placed on probation and given a GPS?

Re: Guilt by association

guilt by association? If someone pleads guilty, then they are considered guilty under law. Mere presence is not a crime. Admitting to an offense, if you didn't do it, is up to the individual defendant i guess. They get the probation and GPS because they plead guilty to child molestation and will be a registered sex offender. There is no plea that is "guilt by association." You either plea guilty, not guilty, or no contest. Thats it.
