Legal Question in DUI Law in Texas

Dui

My friend received a DUI early Sunday morning 7/29/07. She went before the Judge on the same morning and bond was set @ $750. This is her first offense, please advise what the next course of action will be.

Re: Dui

She needs to hire a lawyer. The police will forward her file to the DA, and if in order, the DA will file the case, and she will be notified of her first setting. Different counties have different procedures, but generally the first court date will be in a few weeks.

Re: Dui

Your friend has 15 days from the date of his or her arrest, to request a hearing or their driver's license will be suspended 41 days from the date of the arrest. Your friend needs to find a lawyer who handles DWIs, and not all lawyers handle them, much less correctly. The legal pitfalls are too dangerous and expensive not to hire a good DWI attorney.
