Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

childr orthodontics

I live in Texas and have to boys. My income is less than 15,000 my x-husbands is over 75,000. Recently my x paid for my son to have braces and as I have no insurance and currently paying for a 10,000 medical bill I said I couldn't afford it . He told me not to worry about. He got his new wife to sign the paper work as joint guardian. Now after the Child Support agency have finally caught up with him he is demanding I pay half of the orthodental bill, which is about $3,500. Can he do this?

Re: childr orthodontics

I am confused by your question. The stepmother is a legal guardian of the boys? Are you ordered to pay 50% of uninsured medical? Are there bills indicating that there was a $7000 orthodontia bill? Is the agency the Office of the Attorney General? If so, what prompted them to get involved? First you need to know if you are obligated to pay this bill, and then, if so, start paying small monthly payments, and keep good records of your payments.
