Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Custody of teenager

My daughter is 14 and came to live with me when she was 12. After six months she decided to go back to her mother. After three months with her mother she started telling my wife how the only reason she went back to her mother was because her mother made her feel so guilty for leaving her and that she was very unhappy being there. When we went to court she told the judge the same thing that she told my wife and that she wanted to stay with me. Now after 15 months she has decided that she wants to live with her mother again, who owes me several thousand dollars in back child support and medical bills. What are the chances of the judge sending her back to her mother? I really think we have the same scenerio as before and that she will regret it again, but none of us can afford to keep going back to court.

Re: Custody of teenager

Teenagers are kinda flaky, especially when they come from torn apart homes. No one can tell you what any judge may rule. If you are owed money in child support you should file a counterclaim to have to support reduced to a money judgment.
