Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

desertion

My husband recently abandoned my 1-year old daughter and I (with another child on the way). He was in the military before going AWOL, and now has been dropped from roll, with possibly warrants out for his arrest. What are my legal options at this point, given that he has been gone 2 1/2 months? Also, I am thinking about moving in with a friend that is male. What potential issues might we be looking at if I go through with that? Thanks for any help.

Re: desertion

You may start your divorce if that is what you want or start a SAPCR suit. This suit would get you legal possession of the children at certain times and the father his visitation rights, as well as child support ordered. You would have to serve your husband with proper notice of this suit. The male friend never helps a case, if you can afford to stay with family or friends that are not male it probably would be better. Call us for more help 281-485-0990
