Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Joint Custody

My daughter and her ex have joint custody of their 3 year old son. He at this time is to provide the residence. Does my daughter have the right to allow my grandson to stay with us? So far her ex is making all the calls on who get to see him. What amount of time would he have to be at his fathers for it to be considered the residence?

Re: Joint Custody

Your question is not clear, please present it to LawGuru again and I would be glad to help. That being said I will try to guess what it is your asking. If parties have joint custody often people confuse that with joint or split possession. When your daughter has her time with her child no one can tell her who can see or care for the child so long as the caretaker is not a harm (mentally or physically) to the child. Translated- if your daughter wants to let you see or watch your grandson during her court ordered time them she can. Call our office if you need more help 281-485-0990
