Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

A disservice

I have filed for divorce, my 60 days has been up for 2 weeks, and my lawyer will not return my phone calls or emails. The only thing he has done is file the original petition. I served my husband myself. The only thing left to do is the final decree. What can I do to get him to do his job? He is never in his office--I've tried that.

Re: A disservice

Perhaps your attorney has been in a trial or is on vacation. I once had an emergency in my family and had to leave town with only 2 hours notice.

The 61 day waiting period is the minimum waiting period set by Texas law. Most divorces are NOT done within 61 days!

Why not email, him, call him or write him a letter?
