Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

father visitations before court date

is it ok for me to refuse that the father take our two week old to his house without me and for overnight stays? I feel that our infant should be with me until a certain age before those type of visitations be aloud.

Re: father visitations before court date

Until there is a court order, you are under no obligation to visitation. HOWEVER, you will be parenting together for the next 18 years, might as well get started on the right foot. This is the child's father, and a close relationship with the father usually makes for a far happier and well-adjusted child. If you have a legitimate reason for denying (overnight)visitation be prepared to defend your position. Judges want kids to grow up with two parents. You should pose these issues to your attorney (and if you don't have one, get one tomorrow).
