Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My fourteen year old son's father is threatening to keep him from performing at each Friday night's football game. He is in the band. Can he just tell his dad, he doesn't want to see him, unless he will pick him up after the game? His dad doesn't come regularly anyway, it's just being used as a threat, but he keeps my son upset all the time. Worse part, he owes over $30,000 in back child support. Is there something we can do legally to keep him from picking him up until after the football game?

As for the child support: I HOPE you have something filed already to collect the back child support. Or, in the alternative, I HOPE you already have an order in place for the repayment of the back child support.

As for the visitation: This is a tough problem, and it arises frequently. Unfortunately, your only remedy is to ask for a modification of the court order to accommodate the child's extracurricular activities. Dad is using the visitation order as a weapon.
